HIT Entertainment has named Dana Laufer as its new VP-promotions. In her new role, Laufer will help develop and implement national promotional strategies and programs based on HIT’s portfolio of brands, including Barney, Bob the Builder, Thomas & Friends and Angelina Ballerina.
Laufer oversees cross-promotional opportunities across platforms, including television, live events, home entertainment and packaged goods licensing. She is based in the company’s New York office and reports to Jamie Cygielman, senior VP-consumer products.
Most recently, Laufer worked as senior director of new business development and strategic partnerships at IFP, a non-profit organization that honors independent filmmaking. Prior to this role, she worked as VP-worldwide promotions for Miramax Films, where she developed global marketing and promotional campaigns films including Spy Kids II and Chicago.
Laufer started her career at New Line Cinema where she worked on such franchises as Austin Powers, House Party and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, developing integrated partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and creating long-term corporate alliances across the company home video, TV, music, interactive, consumer products, publishing and international divisions.
