Online gardening retailer Garden.com Inc., New York, has cut 30% of its workforce (93 jobs), in a restructuring effort, and expects results for the first quarter to fall short of predictions, said published reports.
The restructuring is geared to lower operating costs. The company reportedly will concentrate on direct marketing.
The company expects a net loss of $10 to $11 million for the 2001 first quarter. This figure includes restructuring costs. For the fiscal quarter ended June 30, the e-tailer reported a net loss of $14.5 million.
