Jim Hood Wes Bray

Most recently, Jim Hood and Wes Bray had been with mobile marketing company Mobilopia, which they left in July, before setting out to open HipCricket based in Essex, CT.

The company delivers personalized integrated marketing programs to consumers via their cell phone. HipCricket uses a proprietary technology, M3 (Mobile Media Management) as its messaging platform, the company said.

The company is currently running an interactive trivia challenge for the 56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards to be broadcast on ABC for its client the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Mobile Emmy Trivia Challenge began Sept. 10 and includes daily two-part trivia quizzes. The game runs for 10 days through the broadcast airing Sept. 19. Participants text the word play to a code number to begin receiving Emmy trivia questions such as: The Simpsons has won more Emmy Awards than any other animated primetime show in TV history. Reply True/False. The winner gets a trip to Los Angeles next year to visit one Emmy-Award winning show. The game is being promoted in print and Web ads.

Hood and Bray had also been partners in Bray+Hood & Associates, a products consultancy set up in 2001. Prior to that Bray was CEO of Marketing Drive Worldwide. Hood had been CEO of Greenfield Consulting, a market research company. Bray was also named one of the year’s most influential people in the December 2000 issue of PROMO.

The company also opened offices in Seattle, WA, Los Angeles, and Syndey, Australia.
