Chico’s FAS, Inc. has hired Laurie Van Brunt as brand president for the Soma Intimates brand. The position begins May 17.
Prior to joining Chico’s, Van Brunt had worked for J.C. Penney as a vice president for Intimate Apparel. While there for five years, she also worked as marketing vice president and director of brand management. She was responsible for the private brand portfolio for women’s apparel, lingerie, home, accessories, and footwear.
Van Brunt has more than 30 years of retail experience, more than 25 years of specialty retail experience with companies such as Chadwick’s of Boston, Lane Bryant, and Petite Sophisticate, and 15 years of intimate apparel experience.
She will report to Chico’s President and CEO David F. Dyer.
Van Brunt replaces Verna Gibson, a board member who acted as brand president for Soma Intimates on an interim basis for the past several months.
