The federal government market for electronic supplies procurement will rise to $9.2 billion between now and 2003 at a compound annual rate of 34%, according to market research firm Federal Sources Inc., Washington, DC.
FSI also forecasts a 26% rise in the government’s investment in high speed networking and a $5.6 billion market during the same period.
This assessment is a 100-page report covering such items as electronic data interchange, card-based technologies, electronic procurement, the Internet, electronic benefits transfer and government Web-site activity.
“With more than 80 million adult Internet users in the U.S., the ability of citizens to reach the federal government electronically is on the rise,” aid FSI CEO Thomas L. Hewitt, in a statement.”
