Evian Returns to the Runway at Fashion Week

After staying away from the catwalk for five years, Evian Natural Spring Water will return to New York’s annual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week as the official bottled water and sponsor.

Evian will appear as the hydration of choice at the Fall 2008 Fashion Week show, to be held Feb. 1 to 8 in Bryant Park. Attendees will be able to drink from the limited edition bottle Evian commissioned last December from French fashion designer Christian Lacroix. The company has been issuing limited edition bottles for years, mostly created by well-known artists; but this is the first time the company has tapped a fashion designer for inspiration.

Evian was the original bottled-water sponsor of the fashion gathering when it first launched in 1993 and served as its official bottled water through the 2003 show.

“We are thrilled to welcome Evian back to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this year,” said Fern Mallis, senior vice president of IMG Fashion, in a statement. “Without the support of our sponsors, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week would never have grown to the level that it has within New York City and throughout the world.”
