ECost, an online discount retailer, has hired Adam Schaffer to serve as its CEO. Shaffer was most recently CEO of Safety-911, a public safety equipment direct marketing firm. ECost is a wholly owned subsidiary of Torrace, CA-based PC Mall.
Before joining Safety-911, Schaffer was director of brand development for Maxim magazine, and held a number of positions with Micro Warehouse. ECost specializes in selling refurbished and close-out merchandise from a variety of electronics and consumer goods companies to individuals and small businesses.
