Dunkin’ Donuts is trying to hush the pundits who keep yammering away at consumers to save money buy cutting out those daily lattes, while at the same time encouraging consumers to stop by during the afternoon hours.
The “America’s Latte Break,” is a nationwide program just getting underway that lets customers buy a small hot or iced Dunkin’ Donuts Latte on any weekday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. for just 99 cents through Nov. 11.
“Americans are facing more and more challenges every day, as the economy forces many hard-working people to make difficult choices to keep their spending down,” said Frances Allen, brand marketing officer for Dunkin’ Donuts, in a release.” Whether or not to treat yourself to an afternoon latte shouldn’t have to be one of them.”
Also on the menu during the promo will be a 99 cent Egg and Cheese Sandwich with the purchase of a medium or larger hot coffee through November 1.
New 15- and 30-second TV spots also broke yesterday that feature what look to be hard-working Americans—from a waitress to an office worker to a mail carrier—climbing up a hill to illustrates people taking on their “uphill battles” with a fresh cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee in hand to help keep them going until they reach the top, the company said.
