Drugstore.com an online pharmacy, will acquire contact lens direct marketer International Vision Direct Corp. for more than $10 million in cash and stock.
International Vision Direct Corp. provides contact lenses and vision accessories from such manufacturers as Bausch & Lomb, CIBA Vision, Johnson & Johnson, OSI/American Hydron, and others through its online Web sites at www.visiondirect.com, www.onestopcontacts.com, www.lensmart.com and www.paylesscontacts.com.
“With this acquisition, the Drugstore.com Web store will be able to offer our nearly four million customers substantial price savings on contact lenses, “said Kal Raman, CEO of the Bellevue, WA firm.
The deal is expected to close in early December.
