The Direct Marketing Association has bought DMD Marketing Conference & Expo on Monday, sources said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Officials at DMD and the DMA could not immediately be reached.
The 37-year-old conference has been quietly shopped around. Last June, as the conference was occurring at the Javits Center in New York, BtoB Online reported that Courtenay Communications was buying the conference.
There are ongoing discussions with a number of possible buyers, said Connie LaMotta, media consultant of DMD New York, at the time.
There have been three owners of DMD: Chuck Cavanagh, president and CEO; Art Blumenfield, vice chairman and executive vice president; and Thomas J. Turner, executive vice president and COO.
