As part of a new 10-year partnership, the Walt Disney Co. will feature paper products by Atlanta-based Georgia-Pacific Corp. at its theme parks and resorts in Florida and California.
The deal, announced Friday in New York City, includes marketing and promotional rights for both brands. The partnership links one of the world’s leading paper consumer products companies with a major family entertainment destination provider.
“This alliance with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is a unique opportunity to link our brands, which are trusted and used by families in more than 85 percent of U.S. households, with the world’s leading family entertainment destinations and is another bold step in the evolution of our company,” said A.D. “Pete” Correll, chairman and CEO of Georgia-Pacific, in a statement.
Brawny paper towels will serve as the presenting sponsor of the Disney-MGM Studios Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show this spring in Florida. Dixie tableware will be the title sponsor of Mickey’s Backyard BBQ pavilion and Chip ‘n Dale’s Campfire Sing-a-long at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground in Florida.
In addition, guest and employees will use Georgia-Pacific products, including Quilted Northern bath tissue, Angel Soft toilet paper, Vanity Fair napkins, Dixie cups, plates and bowls at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort and Disney Cruise Line.
“Georgia-Pacific has some of the best-known brands and this opportunity will allow us to further create new and innovative ways to extend our brand into the hearts and homes of families across America,” said Walt Disney Parks and Resorts President Jay Rasulo, in a statement.
