Dell Computer Corp. will offer its customers IBM Global Services thanks to an agreement that is worth an estimated $6 billion over 7 years.
While further financial details were not disclosed, the agreement does allow Dell to offer its customers in the United States a range of installation and onsite warranty services form IBM Global Services for Dell’s computer products. Both corporations intend for the services to be offered to international customers as well.
The match of Dell, a direct marketer of computers, with IBM, a provider of information technology, is an expansion of the scope of pre-existing agreements between the companies. In addition, it builds on their $16 billion strategic technology agreement announced last March.
