COURT TO RECONSIDER BRAWL AT BRITISH DMA AWARDS

Southwart Crown Court in London reportedly will decide on Aug. 27 whether to hold a second trial concerning a brawl at an awards dinner hosted by Britain’s Direct Marketing Association.

An incident occurred involving an awards judge, copywriter and art director. The first trial ended with a hung jury, according to the West Cumberland Times & Star newspaper.

Violence erupted apparently after some remarks were exchanged. The awards judge was arrested after he allegedly scuffled with a copywriter and lunged at an art director knocking him to the floor. The art director who was among the winners was subsequently taken a hospital with a split nose, where it was sewn back together with three stitches.
