Convergys Forms Four-Year Pact with DirecTV

Convergys Corp., Cincinnati, has signed a four-year contract with DirecTV Inc., to provide inbound customer service in Convergys’ dedicated call centers.

During 1998, DirecTV was Convergys Customer Management Group’s second largest client. This four-year contract will run through the end of 2002 and replace the existing contract that was to expire at the end of the third quarter of this year. Convergys will also be providing interactive voice response (IVR) services.

“Convergys provides the comprehensive, world-class customer management DirecTV needs to help expand its subscriber base while leveraging Convergys’ unsurpassed call center expertise and value-added customer support,” said Dave Dougherty, president of Convergys customer management group.

Convergys provides outsourced, integrated, information- and customer-management services. DirecTV is the fourth largest multichannel video service in the country.
