Chad Slater Starts a List Brokerage Firm

Veteran list broker Chad Slater has formed a new company.

Integrated Direct Marketing LLC will specialize in list brokerage and campaign planning, mostly for business-to-business marketers. It will broker both online and offline lists.

Direct Media Inc. will supply back-office support and infrastructure, Slater said.

In addition, Slater has entered into a strategic partnership with Direct Media to develop “the next generation” of co-op databases and prospecting databases.

Slater added that he wants to help clients “align their online and offline prospecting efforts and develop strategies to bring them together.”

IDM will stick to brokerage. “I kind of like the model that Chris Paradysz (of Paradysz Matera) developed,” Slater said.

The firm has rented office space at 1 Stamford Plaza in Stamford, CT, and is lining up personnel.

Slater was a partner and senior vice president at MeritDirect until last October. He subsequently filed an arbitration claim alleging unlawful dismissal (Direct Newsline, Oct. 31, 2002).

Prior to MeritDirect, Slater worked at Direct Media for three years as vice president of list brokerage. He has also served at TMA (formerly Tony Murray & Associates).

His long-term clients have included CDW, Office Max, Northern Tool and Equipment, American Van, Lands
