CGI Holding Corp. has acquired MarketSmart Advertising Inc., Rightstuff, Inc. d/b/a Bright Idea Studio, and Checkup Marketing, Inc. for $3 million and 1 million shares of its restricted common stock.
Based in Raleigh, N.C., the MarketSmart Cos. provides advertising, public relations, marketing, branding and shopping evaluation services.
Founding partners Greg Cox, Lewis Finch III and Steven Thanhauser will continue to lead the businesses following the merger.
CGI, based in Lake Bluff, IL, owns search engine marketing firm WebSourced, Inc., Morrisville, NC and Cherish, Inc., a Clearwater-FL, Internet dating company.
*Management Buys Out U.K. Direct Marketer Senior management has acquired control of Norfolk based Bounty, a U.K.-based direct marketer to pregnant mothers and new parent households through a 20-million pound ($37.4 million) buyout, according to wire service reports.
The company is best known for its “New Mum” packs it distributes to 95% of all new mothers in the UK and contain sample products and leaflets.
The company distributes 3.2 million packs per year containing 60 million samples and 2.2 million publications promoting its clients’ brands. Bounty also owns Diss, a promotional fulfillment company.
