Specialty Catalog Corp. a direct marketer of wigs for women, has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by EdgeStone Capital Partners, a private equity investment fund based in Toronto, Canada.
The Brockton, MA cataloger markets its product line under the brand names Paula Young and Especially Yours.
“The timing of this transaction is excellent. Specialty Catalog is entering a new phase of growth as maturing Baby Boomers enter our core demographic. Edgestone will provide capital enabling us to grow and expand our market share,” said Joseph Grabowski, CEO of Specialty Catalog, in a prepared statement.
Arranged by the investment banking firm Goldsmith Agio Helms, this marks the 22nd deal completed by the financier in the direct marketing area.
