Burger King Ups Schaufelberger to Global Marketing Post

Burger King Corp. has promoted John Schaufelberger to senior vice president, global product marketing, a new position.

He has been vice president of product marketing and innovation. He joined the company in 2004 as director of product marketing.

In the role, Schaufelberger heads up product innovation, development, marketing and promotional launches around the world. The position began Oct. 4.

He played a key role in the chain’s turnaround, helping to develop new product launches including BK Chicken Fries, the BK Joe link, the BK Breakfast Value Menu and new incarnations of the Whopper sandwich, Angus Steak Burger and Tender Crispy Chicken Sandwich offerings.

Prior to joining Burger King, Schaufelberger worked as senior vice president of marketing for Arby’s from 1999 to 2004. During that time, he oversaw the development and expansion of the company’s Market Fresh line. Before that, he worked as the southeast division marketing director for Pizza Hut.
