The Bombay Co. Inc. reported a net loss of $6.3 million for the second quarter was $6.3 million, compared to a net loss of $800,000 last year.
The cataloger and retailer reported revenue of $122.5 million for the quarter ended July 31, off 6% from $130.3 million last year.
“Shortcomings in the merchandise assortment and continuing softness in demand for moderately-priced home furnishings resulted in a disappointing performance for the quarter,” said James D. Carreker, CEO of the Ft. Worth, TX company in a statement.
