Online auctioning company Bid.Com International Inc., based in Toronto, reported a net loss of $5.8 million Canadian for the quarter ended Dec. 31, up from $3.1 million for the last quarter of 1998.
Revenue in the quarter grew to $6.4 million, up from $1.5 million in the fourth quarter of 1997.
For the year ended Dec. 31, Bid.com reported a net loss of $18.7 million, exceeding a net loss of $6.7 million, or $0.55 per basic share, in 1997.
In 1998, revenue increased more than 600% to $20.1 million from $2.7 million in 1997.
