America Online Inc, has filed suit against several Florida e-mailers who allegedly conspired with international spam operators based in Thailand.
The civil suit filed with the U.S. District Court in Orlando, FL, alleges violations of the Virginia Computer Crimes Act, the Federal Computer Fraud & Abuse Act, and State of Florida Common Law.
AOL is seeking an injunction, $1.6 million in statutory damages, possible additional compensatory and punitive damages and asset forfeiture.
The defendants include: Connor-Miller Software Inc., Charles Henry Miller Jr., Heidi Miller; and James Connor. Connor-Miller Software, Inc., Winter Garden, Florida.
Connor-Miller did not respond to e-mails at deadline.
