Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Anheuser-Busch, St. Louis, last week announced a multi-year extension of its marketing partnership with the National Basketball League. The Bud Light and Budweiser brands will sponsor the NBA, the Women’s National Basketball Association, and the National Basketball Development League, the NBA’s minor league in the Southeast.

The two brands will support game telecasts via spots on ABC, ESPN, TNT and NBA TV, and take part in the NBA’s Hispanic marketing initiative with NBA and WNBA broadcasts on Telemundo.

Budweiser sponsors NBA international broadcasts of regular season games, the NBA All-Star Game, and NBA Finals. Plus, Budweiser and the NBA plan to develop a new adult-oriented basketball program in key A-B markets. Budweiser has marketing and promotional agreements with 22 of the 29 NBA teams for the upcoming season, and will have presence on promotional materials for all 29 teams.
