ALC Wins Eddie Bauer, Red Herring Accounts

American List Counsel won management of one and exclusive brokerage of another major account on Friday. ALC will manage the Red Herring magazine file and handle brokerage for Eddie Bauer.

Eddie Bauer, which has used a number of brokers, consolidated all of its catalog division data-acquisition activities with Princeton, NJ-based ALC.

“It was a long time coming, but I’ve finally got my arms around Eddie Bauer—all of Eddie Bauer,” said Susan Rice Rappaport, president of ALC, in a statement.

The Red Herring magazine account includes 165,000 subscribers at $215 per thousand. There are also 49,800 opt-in e-mail names at $300 per thousand.

In addition, there are 8,000 international subscribers at $375 per thousand.

There is a financial rate of $170 per thousand, a general business rate of $150 per thousand, a consumer catalog rate of $85 per thousand and a fundraiser rate of $75 per thousand.

Subscribers to the monthly Red Herring pay $58 for an annual subscription and 85% of them choose to receive the magazine at home.
