AFP Names New CEO, Will Release Details of Settlements

American Family Enterprises, parent company of beleaguered magazine stampsheet marketer American Family Publishers, has named Brian Wolfe president/CEO, effective Nov. 22. He replaces Susan Caughman who was promoted to chairman. Wolfe will be responsible for day-to-day operations.

A 15-year veteran of Time Inc., Wolfe is now vice president of consumer marketing for Sports Illustrated.

Earlier this month, AFP filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, in a move to protect itself from going under after reaching tentative agreements to settle dozens of class action lawsuits for alleged deceptive advertising (DIRECT Newsline, Nov.2 1999). The company said it will soon release the details of a “settlement” of several these lawsuits.
