1-800-Flowers.com Launches Spanish-Language Site

1-800-Flowers.com, Westbury, NY, has launched 1-800-Lasflores.com, a flower and gift Web site with content entirely in Spanish. The site is located at http://www.1800lasflores.com.

“Since 1995 we’ve had a telephonic presence with 1-800-Lasflores and our Spanish speaking customer service representatives,” said CEO Jim McCann in a statement.

For the most part site is translated directly from the English-language version, although spokesperson Ken Young does not rule out gearing content to reflect Hispanic holidays in the future. Young also said that a key goal of the site was to reflect 1-800-Flowers.com’s expansion beyond the flower market.

One concession the company made to Hispanic consumers was to highlight use of the Sears credit card, which the firm’s market research showed had higher penetration within the Hispanic community.
