Sears, Roebuck & Co., New York, may test same-day delivery of small appliances, electronics and other items ordered on the Internet, published reports say.
The Hoffman Estates, IL-based company also plans to let customers pick up products in stores that they ordered online. This would go into effect during the fourth quarter of 2000, or early next year.
These plans are part of the department store chain’s plans to integrate its Web site with its retail outlets. The retailer already allows Internet customers to return merchandise at Sears stores.
