Primedia Inc. has agreed to sell for $385 million in cash its Business Information group to PBI Media Holdings Inc., an entity controlled by Wasserstein & Co. LP, a private equity and investment firm.
The sale expected to close in the fourth quarter includes 70 publications, 100 Web sites, 25 events, 50 directories and data products. The sale includes Direct, which is published by Primedia.
