Nickelodeon has bolstered its marketing department with two promotions.
Frank Tanki has been named vice president, brand marketing, and Jennifer Tracy as vice president, digital promotions marketing, effective immediately. The positions were newly created.
In his new role, Tanki will direct brand management for Nickelodeon’s hit properties, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Naked Brothers Band and Just Jordan. In addition, he will oversee network advertising and long-term strategic marketing initiatives to support TV show launches, network events, consumer product programs and third-party promotions and partnerships.
As part of the job, Tanki will also help plan for promotions and marketing of on and off-air programs, including Nickelodeon Upfront and ad trade campaigns, as well as help direct and execute the network’s consumer marketing efforts and educational outreach.
Tanki most recently worked as senior director, Nickelodeon brand marketing, where he ran a series of campaigns for SpongeBob SquarePants’ Lost in Time, Avatar: The Lost Airbender’s Secret of the Fire Nation and Zoey 101’s Spring Break-Up. He started his career at Nickelodeon as project manager for The Rugrats Movie, where he managed plans and coordinated efforts with network divisions. He then worked as director, promotions marketing for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, leading and directing integrated promotions for the network and boosting ad sales from movie studios, video game companies toy manufacturers and sports leagues.
He reports to Pam Kaufman, Nickelodeon’s executive vice president, marketing and worldwide partnerships.
In her new role, Tracy will oversee promotions marketing strategies for Nickelodeon’s online platforms, including Nick.com, NickJr.com, and GoCityKids.com. In addition, she will help coordinate advertiser promotional strategies across the MTVN Kids and Family Group digital portfolio, which includes Neopets.com, AddictingGames.com and Shockwave.
As part of the job, Tracy is in charge of developing new sponsorship strategies, launching new online marketing programs for advertisers and searching out new marketing opportunities for the network.
Tracy reports to Brenda Freeman, senior vice president of promotions marketing for Nickelodeon.
