New Stores, DM Help Boost Brookstone’s Revenue

Brookstone Inc., Nashua, NH, had first-quarter sales of $42.1 million, up 11% from $37.9 million in first-quarter 1998. In a statement, company chairman, president and CEO Michael Anthony attributed its gain to “the solid performance of our new stores and direct marketing division. ” The company did not release income figures in its statement.

The quarter ended May 1, 1999.
