Mall of America Host Cancer Awareness Promos

The Mall of America will spend October raising awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Bloomington, MN-based mall will sell MOA CureCards for $10; cardholders get special discounts from mall retailers, and card revenue is donated to the foundation. MOA also will run the Pink Room, a store open only for October and selling an eclectic mix of items that will change regularly. Mall restaurants will donate a portion of sales to the foundation.

Budget Living Magazine teams with MOA for a Country Cottage Giveaway sweepstakes that will award a custom-designed cottage and its furnishings. The actual cottage will be on display at the mall through Nov. 2, where shoppers can tour it, enter the sweeps and make donations to foundation.

The cottage has been built inside the mall, under the direction of architect Stephen Atkinson, and decorated by the editorial staff of New York City-based Budget Living.

“This multi-faceted program displays an architecturally significant structure; offers a major attraction for Mall of America, and most importantly, will increase breast cancer awareness and raise a significant amount of money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation,” says Budget Living Publisher Donald Welsh in a statement. “It also provides a high profile venue for advertisers to showcase products.”
