The Federal Trade Commission is warning consumers against a scam charging consumers to register for the FTC’s Do Not Call list.
Callers to 1-800-DONOTCALL are charged $3, then connected to the FTC’s sign-up system. The FTC says registration then takes seven minutes, a full five minutes more than directly calling the FTC and registering for free.
