(Catalog Age)–Comfort Corner Corp., which mails the SoftSpots Comfort Corner women’s shoes catalog, was sold June 28 to its former vice president and general manager Robert Morrison.
Lowell Shoe had owned the 12-year-old cataloger and decided earlier this year to focus on its wholesale division, which sells to major department stores, shoe stores, and other catalogers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Morrison is now president of Hudson, NH-based Comfort Corner. Other members of the management team include Sharon Torrey, director of operations and purchasing, Kristie York, director of customer relations and human resources, Kim Kapala, marketing manager and Millie Arsenault, accessory buyer and inventory manager. Former Herrington catalog executive Paul Brideau has been named controller.
Comfort Corner will continue to operate from its current location until it moves to another facility, also in Hudson, later this year, Morrison said in a statement. The new company will also keep its circulation at 10 million catalogs annually. The early fall 2002 catalog will begin mailing as scheduled on July 22.
