Cartoon Network and the Food and Drug Administration have launched a public education campaign to get young people to read food packaging labels to make healthier food choices.
The Spot the Block campaign is promoted online and via TV spots that feature characters from popular programs like Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. Cartoon Network is producing the two ads to be used.
A dedicated Web site where kids can engage with messaging from the FDA and other tools to help them understand the nutritional labels, the companies said.
The campaign targets kids ages nine to 13.
