Information services company Experian, Orange, CA, is opening a new production facility in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, to expand its lettershop and production operations.
The new facility, the firm’s sixth production plant and the second in Mt. Pleasant, will be comprised of state-of-the-art production equipment to offer additional sophisticated packaging techniques, such as shrink wrapping, poly wrapping and three-dimensional sample packaging capabilities, the company said.
The new plant is expected to meet all requirements for secondary packaging under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards for Good Manufacturing Practices, allowing Experian to enhance its white room packaging operations, the company said.
The new facility will support a variety of secondary packaging and distribution services, including sample mailings of consumer promotional packages — such as diapers, feminine hygiene products, lotions, detergents and over-the-counter medicines.
“Expanding our facilities will allow us to provide a greater variety of secondary packaging services,” said James Drake, president of Integrated manufacturing solutions for Experian in a statement. “Meeting FDA standards uniquely positions us to develop and complete virtually any complex secondary packaging request.”
