Catalina Deals New Deck

Catalina Marketing Corp. has promoted Mike Bechtol to president of Catalina Marketing Services, which sells the company’s core electronic marketing programs in the U.S. Since joining Catalina 12 years ago, Bechtol has held various positions, including executive vp of sales. He will be based at St. Petersburg, FL, headquarters.

Kathleen Schulke will succeed Bechtol as executive vp of retail. She recently served as senior vp of the Catalina Marketing International Division, where she was “instrumental in advancing the business in the U.K.,” a company statement said. Schulke will work out of the Rochelle Park, NJ. office.

Catalina Marketing also promoted David Diamond to “chief vision officer” of the corporation. He will retain his position as executive vp of the corporation.

Laurent Amouyal, former president and ceo of Catalina Marketing France, has been promoted to president and ceo of Catalina Marketing Europe, a new group formed to support overseas business growth. Jacque Francois-Poncet was promoted to executive vp and cfo of the unit. He previously served as general manager of Catalina Marketing France.

In other executive moves at the company, Health Resource Publishing unit chief Mike McClory was named an executive vp of the corporation, John Giuliani was promoted executive vp of sales, and Patty Melanson was promoted to executive vp of client operations and information technology.
