CarsDirect, an online car-shopping service, has acquired 1-800 Communications, a provider of auto financing leads to dealers, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition delivers significant new benefits for the seven million unique consumers who visit the CarsDirect.com and Autos.com Web sites each month to research, finance and buy new and used vehicles, according to the Los Angeles-based firm.
“1-800 Communications’ leadership in matching credit-challenged consumers with the best, broadest finance options makes it a perfect complement for our no-hassle approach to online transactions,” said CEO Bob Brisco in a statement.
