Burger King Corp., Miami, last week shifted its entire marketing and legal support staff to its 12-year-old Burger King Brands subsidiary, naming Chris Clouser as the wholly owned division’s first president.
Until now, the 12-year-old Burger King Brands unit had only a few staffers and no lead executive. Clouser keeps his title as executive vp-chief marketing officer for Burger King Corp.
The chain moved the marketing staff “for legal reasons,” according to a spokesperson. The move comes on the heels of several shifts in marketing management, including a promotion for BK veteran Richard Taylor (now vp-alliances and partnerships), new alliance-development posts, and an infusion of Northwest Airlines marketing execs under BK ceo and Northwest veteran John Dasburg a (XTRA, Oct. 16).
