Ask Jeeves Inc, the Internet advertising services firm will acquire the European operations of Excite.
Terms were not disclosed.
Excite said it features one of the Internet’s most plentiful resources from more than 100 leading providers.
This acquisition will reportedly give the Oakland, CA firm ownership of Excite’s Internet domains throughout Europe as well as control of existing portal offerings in Spain, Italy, France, Britain, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.
