Way back in May 1982, WABC-New York, the AM Top 40 radio station, made a much-ballyhooed announcement that it was going to abandon music in favor of an all-talk format.

At the press conference making this announcement, all the DJs a lot of us New Yorkers had grown up with like Cousin Bruce (Morrow). Dan Ingram, Ron Lundy and others were on hand to say goodbye.
