Visa is incenting hotel stays at Courtyard by Marriott with a sweepstakes that offers a trip to the Super Bowl.

Visa cardholders who use their card to a stay at a Marriott Courtyard are entered in the “Visa Road to the Super Bowl XLII Challenge at the Courtyard.” The grand prize is a trip for two to Super Bowl XLII, including a meet and greet with a National Football League player and entrée to an exclusive NFL party.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis adds some star power to the campaign. Bettis greets people who call for Courtyard reservations in a pre-recorded message, which says, “For me, getting to the Super Bowl took years of hard work and dedication. For Visa card holders it’s much easier.”

The message then urges people to use their Visa card when staying at the hotel.

Visa users receive scratch-off cards when they check out that could win them NFL merchandise, $50 Visa and Marriott gift cards or Courtyard Bonus Bucks. Other sweepstakes prizes include a Samsung 40-inch flat screen TV and 10,000 instant and consolation items.

Online marketing supports the sweepstakes, which runs through Dec. 15 at U.S. Marriott Courtyard locations.
