OgilvyOne Worldwide named J.G. Sandom director of interactive, North America. Previously, he was director of interactive, New York. Sandom will lead interactive network development for clients like IBM, Ford, Kodak, GTE, Perrier and Jaguar.

Global Direct Inc., Calgary, Alberta, filed a letter of intent to acquire RN Marketing Solutions Ltd., Edmonton, Alberta. RN is a supplier of multichannel DM distribution services for the direct-to-consumer communications industry in Alberta. Sales thus far this year are about $2.57 million.

Netcentives Inc., San Francisco, has debuted ClickRewards@Work, what it claims is the first fully Web-enabled corporate incentive program. Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Adauction.com, TriNet VCO and EventSource.com are the first customers. They will be able to award ClickMiles (frequent flyer miles redeemable through eight airlines) to employees, customers and partners online.

Paris-based FNAC, France’s largest book and music retailer, will expand into e-commerce with its acquisition of online book retailer Alize. FNAC, a unit of Pinault-Printemps-Redoute S.A., plans to invest up to $32.4 million to build its French Internet businesses over four years, according to published reports.

Sharper Image Corp., San Francisco, has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed public offering of 3 million shares of common stock, all of which are being made available by the company. Proceeds from the offering will be used for general corporate purposes, including investments in the company’s Internet business and expansion of its distribution and fulfillment capacity.

Navidec Inc., Denver, has formed DriveOff.com Inc., an Internet car buying service. The site, expected to launch this summer, will provide consumers with pricing and monthly payment quotes, and give visitors a reply to an online credit application in less than a minute on average.
