Papa John’s Ties Pizza Orders to Paying Taxes

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Papa John’s has partnered with H&R Block to offer a promotion to stressed out tax payers to drive its online pizza ordering business.

Papa John’s customers who follow the links on PapaJohns.com to file their taxes using H&R Block’s TaxCut Online programs will get a complimentary electronic Papa John’s gift card worth $10.40 (get it? Tax form 1040).

“Filing taxes online and ordering pizza online have a lot in common as they both take care of business right on screen,” said Jim Ensign, vice president of marketing communications for Papa John’s International, in a statement.

Since Papa John’s introduced online ordering in 2001, orders have grown by more than 50% per year, the company said.
