Levi’s and JCPenney are working in harmony to support VH1’s Save the Music Foundation with a fund-raising campaign next week.
The two companies have pledged to raise $100,000 for the VH1 foundation, which supports music programs in public schools by donating musical instruments. From July 27 through August 2, Levi’s will donate $5 from each customer who buys two pairs of Levi’s jeans at participating JCPenney stores or at jcp.com, up to the amount of the companies’ pledge.
As a reward for their participation, customers will receive a $10 JCPenney gift card by mail, redeemable at stores nationwide.
JCPenney is kicking off the program with a special performance by Gavin McGraw at Houston’s Willowbrook Mall Atrium outside the JCPenney store on Sunday.
“Restoring music education in our public schools is an important cause and we are proud to partner with these two outstanding corporations as we work toward our goal of bringing music into the core curriculum of each and every public school in our country,” said Paul Cothran, executive director of the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, in a statement.
VH1’s Save the Music Foundation has donated $40 million in new musical instruments to1,500 schools around the country since its inception in 1997.
