Cataloger J. Jill Group Inc., Hingham, MA, reports sales for the second quarter and six months ended June 26, increased 31% to $78 million from $59.4 million reported in the prior year.
Second-quarter operating income totaled $6.7 million, a 43% increase over the previous year’s $4.7 million. Net income for the quarter rose 27% over the comparable period last year to $3.8 million.
For the six months ended June 26, sales rose to $142.8 million from $104.2 million, a 37% increase. Operating income rose 45% to $9.2 million from $6.4 million. Net income increased 23% to $5.1 million from $4.1 million last year.
Gordon R. Cooke, president and CEO, said in a statement that he was, “very encouraged by the continued productivity improvements that we have experienced in our new operations and fulfillment facility during this quarter.”
