Ted Deikel and Tom Petters — the new owners of certain Fingerhut Cos. assets — do not have time to put out a catalog this fall, Petters’ spokesperson, Mary Pernula, has confirmed.
“I don’t see how anyone could possibly put out a catalog for the fall,” she said.
Are plans gelling yet for a holiday catalog? “It’s way too preliminary to discuss that,” she said. “We just acquired some assets. And there is a lot of work ahead of us to figure out how we can put a business back together,” Pernula said.
Petters and Deikel on July 24 purchased Fingerhut’s St. Cloud, MN distribution center, the Minnetonka, MN headquarters, a distribution center in Tennessee, a Web site, inventory and other assets, for less than $500 million, according to reports.
