Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

In a deal that could help direct marketers in the wireless arena, America Online Inc. and AT&T Wireless Group Inc. have formed a pact to promote wireless data services such as Instant Messaging, e-mail and Internet content, Reuters reported.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The co-branded service will allow AOL members to get e-mail, news, stock quotes and other information over AT&T’s Wireless Internet-ready phones.

Plans call for the service and the co-branded handset to be for sale by the second half of 2002.
