TWO VENERABLE LIST companies are celebrating their 20th anniversaries this month-proof that there is such a thing as stability in direct marketing.
One is American List Counsel Inc., Princeton, NJ, which has aggressive growth plans.
Founder and president Donn Rappaport boasts 10 partners (eight more to be added this month); the final stages of a million-dollar technological upgrade; a presence in both e-mail and Internet marketing; and a new data processing group, Database Resources.
The company has made a commitment to expanding its portfolio of special interest cooperative and compiled databases and is looking for acquisition partners.
Isn’t it getting a little tiring after all this time?
“I’m more turned on by this business now than ever,” Rappaport says.
Mokrynski & Associates Inc. also opened its doors in 1978-with a total of three employees working hard to launch departments in brokerage, management and package-insert programs.
The firm registered its first order that year for The Tog Shop, which remains a customer today.
Founder and president Don Mokrynski credits his employees and a loyal client portfolio for the company’s survival.
Hackensack, NJ-based Mokrynski serves over 190 list brokerage accounts, 110 list management properties, more than 50 alternative-response media clients and more than 70 international clients.
