World Color Press Inc., Greenwich, CT, will acquire privately held UP/Graphics Inc., Providence, RI. The transaction is expected to be completed in the next few weeks. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
UP/Graphics is a large general commercial printer. It had pro-forma revenues of approximately $86 million in 1998.
World Color specializes in the production and distribution of content for customers in the commercial, magazine, catalog, book, direct mail and directory markets.
