U.S. Internet Audience Grows in November

Of the 10 countries that Nielsen Online tracked in November, eight saw increases in their active Internet home user audience. Only the U.K. and Switzerland saw declines.

The total worldwide active Internet audience was about 353 million, which was a 1.96% increase from October’s 347 million figure. The U.S. had the largest share of that total with 150 million active Internet home users in November, a 1.11% increase from October’s 148 million figure.

Brazil saw the largest growth, with an 8.32% increase from October’s audience. Australia was second with a growth of 7.28%.

The U.K. had a total of 25.6 million active Internet users in November, a 1.14% decline from October’s audience of 25.9 million users.

Switzerland saw its active Internet user total decline 0.81% from 3.90 million in October to 3.87 million in November.

Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and Japan also saw increases in its active Internet user numbers.
