UPS Taps Football Fans for Intercept Video Contest

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

UPS is seeking videos of the best amateur football interceptions in a nationwide contest for cash prizes to promote a delivery intercept service it kicked off earlier this year.

The UPS Delivery Intercept Challenge Video Contest, featuring former NFL quarterback Archie Manning as its spokesperson, will give the grand prize winner the right to designate $10,000 to the high school or amateur program of his or her choice. The first place winner also gets a tailgate party with Manning for 100 people and a football autographed by the former NFL star.

The second prize winner gets $7,000 and the chance to designate $5,000 to a high school or amateur football program. Third prize is $5,000 and a $2,500 award designation.

The contest plugs the UPS Deliver Intercept service, which UPS introduced earlier this year to enable UPS to intercept and return, redirect or hold packages before they’re delivered. Videos can be submitted from now until Dec. 3, when judges will pick eight finalists to advance to the UPS Delivery Intercept Challenge Bowl. Contest winners will be selected in online voting between Dec.17 through Jan. 4, with winners to be announced on Jan. 9.

“In both football and business, a great interception can be the difference between winning and losing,” said Kurt Kuehn, UPS senior vice president, in a statement.

Vintage video is also eligible for the contest, excluding videos of college or pro football.

Contestants must be U.S. residents 21 years old and older, and videos are to be submitted to UPS.com/Challenge.
